The Fore is a new gym concept that looks to create a more balanced relationship between health, lifestyle and work.
To achieve this the scheme provides facilities for not only exercise but also dining, informal meeting and working. Set across two floors the Kings Cross the scheme experiments with how the three very different programme elements can work together in a retail space.
Working closely with the client to deliver a scheme that reflects both The Fores ethos, the design takes styling cues from the industrial heritage of Kings cross. Ysing raw unfinished materials such as hot rolled mild steel and untreated pippy oak to create an industrial, functional space that will patinate and age. creating a warm comfortable space that Equilibrium clientele will feel as comfortable spending the afternoon working in as they do building up a sweat in a class.
Working with JLK DS as a freelance Architect I was given responsibility for the architectural delivery of the project. Beginning at the schematic stage through to project completion. Throughout the project I worked closely with JLK DS to assist in developing and co-coordinating the design of the custom furniture items.
